State Rep. Mark M. Gillen led the annual 9/11 ceremony at the Berks Military History Museum.
The memorial event was held at the museum’s Ground Zero Steel Memorial. The monument reads: “This Ground Zero Steel Memorial is dedicated to those who lost their lives in the attack of September 11, 2001, and the brave soldiers who died fighting terrorism.”
Several artifacts were also on display including a flashlight used on the night of 9/11 at Ground Zero (which still dimly lights) and a pair of firefighter boots worn on 9/11.
